Link me up baby!

In a quest to get more traffic to my site I am on the prowl for reciprocal links from like websites. Berkshire County Riding Club have obliged, so I’d like to say a quick thank you to Mike Scholl for putting that in place, and if you are looking for a competition to go to in the berks/wilts/hants area you should check them out they are a cracking little club.

‘No foot, no horse’ and don’t I know it!

I don’t know if this is something that just tb’s suffer from but as soon as winter starts to bite Soap’s feet fall apart! This year I am trying a multi pronged attack to keep his shoes on and feet growing. On the advice of my farrier I have started using ‘Hoof Heal 5-in-1’ it’s a little tricky to find but Frogpool Manor had some in stock. To fight the foot rot from within I have put him on biotin, and a general vitamin supplement. On top of all this he is dressed up every day in a full set…

We won!

After last weekend’s success I decided to enter Soap into two more prelims at Sparsholt. Again practising was tricky as the clocks have now changed, and the weather has been horrid. On wednesday night my instructor came and clipped him for me so at least he would be looking good even if we didn’t manage to come up with the goods! Prelim 7 was our first test and he warmed up nicely, stretching through his neck and accross his back. For some reason at home we don’t always get a very nice canter but out he always seems to produce…

Dressage success, Yay!

Well it didn’t look like todays’ tests were going to be very successful as Soap lost a shoe in the week so we have done very little practise, and I look like Rudolph with my red nose because I’m full of cold! Seems I was wrong! Soap did a fab test in Prelim 4 good enough to get us 4th place! We then had Prelim 15 in the long arena which because there is only a 20×40 arena at the yard we hadn’t practised at all, still that didn’t seems to stop us as he got 66.5% and just missed…

GHE has its 1st sponsor yipeeeee!

Our first sponsor is a fab website called www.ridemyhorse.co.uk it provides FREE equestrian classifieds advertising horses, ponies, and equipment  for sale, as well as an events directory which is also FREE! I’m off to do a couple of dressage tests next Saturday so I will be taking lots of flyers with me to put in the entries tent, and on people’s windscreens. Hopefully it will generate some visits for ‘ridemyhorse’ and if you have a free moment why not take a look yourself… www.ridemyhorse.co.uk

Gift Horse Eventing is out the starting box!…

Hiya and welcome to the Gift Horse Eventing blog. I’m Chloe a competitive amateur event rider from Wiltshire looking for sponsorship. I work a regular 9-5 job in affiliate marketing, but every spare daylight hour I get I try to school, compete, and take care of my horse. Here’s a little background info on my equestrian education. I have ridden since I was a nipper, working my way through the ranks with the Tedworth, and Royal Artillery pony clubs. I moved onto horses after dabbling in polo, polocrosse, and carriage driving with my outgrown ponies. My first horse was a…
